Russia, officially known as the Russian Federation, is the world's largest country by landmass. It spans a vast expanse from the eastern regions of Europe to the northern parts of Asia, encompassing an area of over 17 million square kilometers (6.6 million square miles).

Russia's territory is distributed across two continents: Europe and Asia. Approximately one-quarter of its landmass lies within Europe, while the remaining three-quarters are located in Asia.
