Early Life and Career

Wilfred Bailey Everett Bixby III was born in San Francisco on January 22, 1934. He began his acting career in the early 1950s, appearing in small roles in films and television shows.

Bixby's big break came in 1962 when he landed the lead role in the sitcom "My Favorite Martian." The show was a hit, and Bixby quickly became a household name.

The Incredible Hulk

In 1977, Bixby starred as Dr. David Banner in the television series "The Incredible Hulk." The show was a huge success, and Bixby's portrayal of the conflicted scientist who transforms into a rampaging green monster is considered one of the most iconic performances in television history.

Later Career

After "The Incredible Hulk," Bixby continued to work in television and film. He starred in the sitcom "Goodnight, Beantown" and directed several made-for-TV movies.

Bixby died of prostate cancer on November 21, 1993, at the age of 59.

Personal Life

Bixby was married three times. He had two children with his first wife, Brenda Benet. Benet committed suicide in 1982.

Bixby's son, Christopher, died of a drug overdose in 1981 at the age of 6.
